The reaction of [TaCl4(η-C5Me5)] with Na[H2B(mt)2] provides the tantalum(IV) complex [TaCl 2(η-C5Me5){H2B(mt) 2}], the crystal structure of which reveals an essentially linear Ta-H-B interaction.
