Abstract

The Department of Pacific Affairs (DPA) at The Australian National University (ANU), in partnership with the Solomon Islands National University (SINU), conducted an extensive study of the 2024 Solomon Islands general elections. Building on the DPA’s electoral observations in 2014 and 2019, this research offers a unique longitudinal analysis of electoral trends and political developments over the past decade. It represents one of the most comprehensive and methodologically robust studies of electoral processes in Solomon Islands, drawing on over 5,300 citizen surveys and 570 observer reports from 15 constituencies spanning urban centres, rural communities, and remote islands.
