Abstract
Description
This photograph was taken at Koroba Provincial High School, via Koroba, Southern Highlands (now Hela) Province, Papua New Guinea. Photographer's note: The skin from the underside of the bird is mounted on a small rectangular piece of bark. From this base, two flexible cassowary quills project. The quills are weighted with red seeds to make them bounce to the dance rhythm and are tipped with carefully trimmed white tail-feathers from a hornbill to emphasise the movement.
