Abstract
Description
This photograph was taken at Koroba Station Southern Highlands (now Hela) Province, Papua New Guinea. Photographer's note: As a young man, Kensaka joined a patrol that passed through his land and returned with it to Koroba. It was fairly common practice for young men from isolated areas to join and return with patrols to administrative centres for their ‘education’. He worked as a labourer, a general assistant with the Agriculture Department, an interpreter on occasions, and was eventually trained to operate and maintain the power generators
